Banana Leaf

Last Friday, Joyce and I went out to eat at Banana Leaf. There were only the two of us, so we didn't order a lot of food, but that was enough.

I could tell Joyce has changed since her 2-year stay in Indonesia. When she ordered food, she did not look at salad or appetizer with greens anymore. She used to eat lots and lots of vegetables, and only a little bit of meat.

We started with Roti Canai, the flaky layered bread with curry dip. I liked the bread. The curry dip was only an okay though. I didn't like very strong curry presence like they had in Indian restaurant, but this curry had very mild taste, to the point of having almost no taste. The plus side is that we didn't waste any dips, since we needed lots of it to have a bit of flavor.

Joyce ordered the red snapper. Doesn't it look yummy?

I ordered the eggplants with rice. Haha.. even though we ordered separately, we ended up sharing the whole thing. I cannot stand not eating meat, as it turns out.

Overall, it was a nice experience. I got to talk to Joyce after not seeing her for so long.
